Uses of Silica Sand.
Quartz is the only
natural silica mineral used in abundantly; millions of tons are consumed
annually by many industries. Sand is an essential ingredient of concrete and
mortar, where as sandstone and quartzite
used as building stones.
Crushed sandstone and
quartzite provided by Cairo Fresh are used for road and railway construction,
roofing granules, and riprap—erosion-control linings of river channels. Quartz provided
by us is used as a sandpaper abrasive and in sandblasting; it is also used for
polishing and cutting glass, stone, and metal; and for providing traction on
stairs, streets, and rails. Large amounts pure quartz is used in refractory products, such as insulation and firebricks,

for Glass Manufacturing that
is in manufacturing mirrors and window glasses. Moreover, it is also required
in manufacturing decorative glassware, tableware, jars, bottles, fiber glass,
lighting equipments etc. 
Pools and wells are
filtered using hard and dense grains of silica. It is also used in metal
casting units known as Foundries, sand casting process is used
which requires silica sand as it has invaluable resistance towards high
temperature. Silica Sand is specifically processed for the
